Ensuring that guardrails remain in a state of effective protection throughout their service life is paramount; therefore, strict adherence to safety requirements is essential during both the installation and operational phases. During installation, guardrails must be securely anchored to a reliable foundation or structure in accordance with design specifications. Key parameters-such as post spacing, embedment depth, and the strength of connectors-must meet all requirements to prevent structural instability or collapse caused by an inadequate foundation.

During operation and routine maintenance, the integrity of the guardrails must be inspected regularly to check for issues such as deformation, loosening, corrosion, or breakage. Any damage detected must be repaired or replaced promptly to avoid continued use of compromised equipment. In high-risk areas-such as elevated platforms or construction sites-inspection frequency should be increased to ensure continuous and effective protection.

Precautions must also be taken to prevent vandalism and overloading. Guardrails should not be arbitrarily dismantled, climbed upon, or used as load-bearing supports; nor should they be subjected to impact forces or superimposed loads that exceed design standards for extended periods. In specific environments, supplementary measures-such as warning signs and reflective devices-should be employed to enhance visibility and safety awareness, thereby further reducing the risk of accidents.
